Yearly Archives: 2015

Course Closed Thursday 7th May.

Due to the heavy rain we have had in the past few days the drains have backed up leaving raw effluent  in some areas, most notably the 3rd Green, 4th Tee and 2nd Fairway. For Health & Safety reason I will have to close the course till these drains can be examined, cleared and the raw waste sanitised.  I apologise for any inconvenience.

Easter Dance a roaring success.

Those members who missed the Easter Dance should kick themselves as it is one of the best nights the club has hosted in a number of years. The band Superstition were outstanding and the crowd danced, or staggered on their feet , to a compendium of great songs on a evening of high entertainment. Thanks must go to the House Committee and in particular John Kilpatrick for booking the band and organising the night.

Fraggle Rocks the Quiz World!

Congratulations to the Fraggle Rock Team who won the Cambuslang Golf Quiz League for 2015. The team comprised Norman Cloughley, John Bell, Andy Rae, John Shanks and Kenny McGeachy. (obviously it was not a competition for the best dressed.). These brainiacs beat some strong opposition to lift the trophy, medals and bottles of plonk over the Quiz Nights so ably hosted by Past Captain John McBride.
