Death of Member Jim Black.

It is with sad regret I have to inform you of the death of member and friend, Jim Black.  Jim will be remembered fondly by all. A quiet gentlemen, who was always polite, he possessed a great sense of humour and enjoyed his golf to the full. He has carried an illness for some time now but never moaned about it. He went into hospital a week ago on Thursday and succumbed to pneumonia on Saturday evening ( 21st November 2015).  I will pass on the funeral details once I know them

Jim was the epitome of positive attitude and worried about others rather than himself. He was always thinking of his playing crew and I would receive a phone call from him to say he was running late at the hospital or that he was not well and could not make it down, so I could let them know. Jim was 69 years of age but always looked 20 years younger. To say he will be missed is putting it mildly but we can look back with a host of fond memories and laughs at the times he spent at Cambuslang.

Our thoughts are with his wife Margaret, his children and grandchildren at this time.

Course Open.

For those of you who have been getting withdrawal symptoms from lack of golf the good news is that the course is once again open. As I type Stephen Cameron our head greenkeeper is accessing each green individually but is hopeful that most will be on with only a couple of winter greens. Please remember it is mats from the fairways and wet suits from the rough.
